Distance
The distance is defined in the edit-box
in the parameter bar. Valid values are between 1 and 99. The distance input is valid until the next time it is changed. For pairwise and centerline input the old distance is blended smoothly into the new one within the segment in which the change in distance takes place.
Automatics which are input using the outside contour input method can also have more than one distance value. You can input a new value with every new stitch direction line. The distance alters smoothly from one value to the other.

Definition: The distance is defined as the distance between two threads, the ideal distance is double the width of the thread. A larger distance means a larger distance between the threads and therefore a smaller number of stitches, a smaller distance means more stitches.
The distance is measured for all automatics on the outer edge. For pairwise input the outer edge is always the longer edge.
