If a free auxiliary curve should be created, the insert mode has to be switched on, i.e. the insert button at the popup-menu or at the toolbar at the left hand side has to be pressed. After that either the curve button or the button for closed curve at the popup-menu or the toolbar on top has to be clicked on.


Then the auxiliary curve can be punched, the spline curve appears on the screen immediately. If freehand modeVAW9WT is activated in the Settings menu, you can input the curve freehand without clicking for every single curve point.

If you have chosen closed curve, the start- and end-gradient of the curve is calculated so that there is a smooth transition at the start- and endpoint and no blip 


A free curve consists either of line parts or curves, this is controlled by the attributes curve and straight , corners can be defined either with the corner-button or directly with a double-click. In straight line input the cursor engages in 15 degree steps if you press the 1 key simultaneously.
