With the switch center text typographically you can 

select the type of the horizontal centering of the text.

 

Typographical centering moved the base line of the text 

so that an upper case character without descender 

( for example upper case A) is centered exactly.

 

When centering not-typographically the total text height 

is centered, including the descender. This means that the 

base line might be moved.
