Swing & Shift
The number of lines displayed here is as defined under line repetitions. By double clicking on the swing and shift column these values can be edited.
The amount by which the stitches swing out about a real or assumed running line is defined by the swing parameter. The parameter defines the distance in 1/10 mm units from the running line. Using this you can wrap stitches around a running line, these can either be at the same height as the normal stitches or are shifted using the shift function. The swing-value can be positive or negative, negative values cause s swing to the opposite direction. It should be noted that the swing-stitches can be appreciably longer than the selected step length.
With shift the shifting of the stitches is relative to the original line of stitches. The shift is defined in %. A shift of 50% in line 2 means that in the reverse direction the stitches are positioned exactly in the middle of the original stitches.
The values for swing and shift can be defined individually for every run, whereas the step length remains the same.
