The modification of the step rhythm is effective on all selected step stitch areas. If you want to alter just the rhythm of one area, you have to start the distance adjustment for this single block. 

If you do not click to the rhythm-function, the original rhythm remains, if you want to modify the rhythm, all values from 1 to 9 and irregular division are possible
