With help of this factor stitches in step stitch areas become larger or shorter. In the same area more or less stitches are used therefore, the distance between the step stitch lines does not alter. A Step length larger than 100% results longer stitches, that means less stitches, a step length smaller then 100% results shorter and therefore more stitches
