There is a second way of calculating the distance compensation on wavy stepp. The defined distance is either taken on the middle of the automatic. This is the way it was in the past and is done with the setting on centerline.( left picture)

Or the distance is calculated as an average value over the whole area of the automatic ( right picture), this is done with the setting area optimized. Then the differences in the distance will not be that extreme.


Both methods will result interesting effects, depending on the respective design.
