The fill type standard means, that the drawing line is recognized as outer

contour of an area and the chosen stitch type is applied to this contour.

Stitch types which make sense are therefore all types of step stitch fill,

The fill type structured means, that inside the contour cuts and stitch

directions are calculated, similar to the import of True Type fonts or the

ACE on Pixel data. So this fill type is very useful for satin stitch fill. In both

cases all stitch types for area fill are displayed in the list, which one is

useful decides the user himself.

Calculating stitches on the border of the line, the fill type satin stitch

means, that the drawing line is recognized as a center line. So you should

select only those stitch types in the list, which are based on the input mode

center line.

The fill type Running means, that the drawing line is recognized as

punched with the input mode line. So only stitch types based on this input

mode are displayed.

A description  of the single input modes and stitch types you will find in the

chapter Punch1_.XUG.
